Chit Chat / Lifan has no spark
« Last post by retrokurmis on June 04, 2014, 06:37:34 AM »
Hi, I've got problem with my Lian. I swapped ignitions because old one broke down. I attached all wires correctly, ignition is working well, it has electricity, i tested all wires electricity is going trough all of them but I've got no spark. Electricity goes into ignition coil but isn't coming out. At first I was sure that it has broke down but I took another coil from working bike but still the same problem. I have checked with few another spark plugs, wires, ignition coils but there is still no spark, what could be wrong?

" Back soon ' was rather optimistic in my last post . I am still very happy with my Lifan . After 13 months I have never used the kickstart !...battery very good , even during monsoons . It averages 39 kilometres for one litre of fuel .
      Still delighted .

Chit Chat / Motor has odd locking problem
« Last post by tmf on February 09, 2014, 05:08:49 PM »
Hello eveyone.  I'm working on a problem today with my Lifan LF50QGY with the 49cc horizontal engine.  I believe the cam chain tensioner is locking the motor.  When I pull the cam gear and tug on the chain I can spin the motor freely.  I'm stuck on removing the flywheel to inspect the cam tensioner mechanism.  I spun the center bolt off but can't remove that @#$%^%% flywheel.   Youtube videos always show that coming off easily.  Anyone know a technique other than brute for prying?  What about those allen head bolts that surround the center nut and the main shaft.  Do they need to come off?

How To / New engine checks
« Last post by SouthernDawg on December 01, 2013, 02:32:53 AM »
Hello,
New to list, new to Lifans. On other websites I read that purchasing a new Lifan kind of be like a crap shoot in that some are assembled well and some are not. It was suggested to tear engine down when you get it and torque it up, etc to factory specs. Also talked about using Loctite on various parts. Is this necessary? I am mechanically inclined but am not much of small engine mechanic and don't want to screw things up. Comments and "how to's" will be greatly appreciated.

LF125 / Issue with bike starting
« Last post by Allmanator on September 08, 2013, 12:52:49 PM »
I have had my LF125-14F for a year now and there has been no serious issues with it since Easter this year when there was an issues with selecting gears turns out it was a tensioning spring on an arm underneath the selector drum teeth on the left hand side of the engine. That was replaced and the engine was out back in the frame the other day and all wires have been connected up and it won't start now. The battery has 12.5V in and when the front brake is pulled on the lights on the clocks light up and that's it. The neutral light won't come on even though it's in neutral and the electric cut off switch is in the on position so power is getting there. There is no spark is when the engine is cranked over with the kickstart, power is getting through but there seems to be a short some where so any help would be grateful but I do need it soon as I use it to commute back and forth to work.
