I've got a policy with a viva they've  allowed it so I was able to get insured. My insurance broker said that I could have had to go to a specialist chinese motorcycle insurer

Good to know. What is a viva? I did not realize there were specialist chinese motorcycle insurers but I guess that would make sense.

My insurance broker said that I could have had to go to a specialist chinese motorcycle insurer

Hi everyone I'm new to this group so apologies if I'm posting on the wrong page.I have just bought a second hand lifanskygo 200-18 200cc motorbike 2008 model had a bit of trouble in the beginning, someone had cross threaded the one spark plug so had to have it helicoiled, then the very stiff gear change became even stiffer no gears at all took it to a motorbike mechanics where it's been fixed and mot'd just needed some tlc having stood for a long time before I got it so hopefully the phoenix has risen from the flames ha ha is there anyone else out there got one of these bikes spares are going to be a real problem

How To / Exhaust
« Last post by Frankenstein on August 07, 2015, 02:15:04 PM »
I just got my lifan 200 cc 5 spd vertical air cooled engine. I can not find any info on which or where to find an exhaust header to fit this motor! Any info would be great!
I tried an xr200 header and it is too small

Hi Sue, welcome to the forum! Congrats on the Skygo.

Did you have any luck finding a way to get a new key? I am not sure how to do that unless you bought a new keyed ignition. I'm not a mechanic thought so it may certainly be possible...

New clutch installed.  Bike takes off much better.  When warming up the choke stays on too long and the motor runs too fast, causing the clutch to try and engage at the higher speed.  Then the choke goes off and the motor slows too much.   After a few Km it sorts itself out when the whole motor is warmed.   Keep forgetting abt the side stand kill switch.   I'm basically satisfied with it.  The fuel tank is too small--4L, and the mirrors don't clear my elbows, so I can't see behind me.   I'll make extension plates to move them out wider.  The electrical system is too weak at idle--it won't support the head and brake lights, even on low beam.    The fuel gauge sender is poorly made, the wiper often moves away from the arcs and disconnects.  I'll try making the float align vertically to reduce lateral leverage on a thinner wire which is pre-tensioned to keep wiper engaged.
