Well guys, what can I say, I guess it's just in the parenting plus a little maturity.  You see I am 63 years old and was always brought up to respect women and I did the same with my two boys.  They share the same values as my wife and I do and that includes using your head a little and thinking before you speak, or as my Pop used to say, dis-engage the brain before you put your mouth in gear.

Almon, It would be your decision to leave this forum, however, you should know that this was a great site before you came and will remain one after you leave.  You are highly regarded as a trouble maker everywhere you go on the net and that is a real shame because in my opinion I do believe you have a lot to contribute.  You and some of your buds just need to grow up a little and understand that there is always a reason why people do the things they do weather you understand why or not and there is always someone equally as smart or smarter as you.  And as you grow and mature remember if you want respect, you need to give respect.

Enduros,

Can we please watch the language.  My wife reads this forum as do other women.

And, what is the problem with American Lifan.  They have always done fine by me.

DFloyd,

I bought a BMS Bemine 150 scooter from Rabbit last year and experienced the same problems as you and even worse, I bought it as a 2007 but when I got it guess what, it was a 2006.  Talked to Brian, he hung up on me.  I think all they have is a call center with no inventory or parts and no service for sure.  Everytime I called for service questions they forwarded me to Chris at Boreem Motor Sports where it was actually shipped from.  Actually he was great to work with.  I would probably go somewhere else if I were to do it again.

Buyingchina,

I can only attest to the LF250.  My wife bought it for me as a surprise Christmas gift fom an American Lifan dealer who was very motivated to sell in November of last year.  She negotiated them down to $1,425.00 and they had to deliver it.  It included the crash bar and windshield.

It is a great ride, unfortunately though, the stinkin' weather here in S.W.Ohio won't allow me to ride much.  I have put 243 trouble free miles on it though and I just love it.  It runs great, rides and handles well,  and I am really impressed with the acceleration and stopping.  I managed to take it out last Thursday and yesterday and today it has snowed like hell here to the tune of 10.5 inches and it's not done yet.  I can't wait till spring.  There are pics of it in the "Pictures and Video" section  of this forum.

mtliu,

Thank you very much.  Finally someone else who really understands the subject.  Maybe I wasn't being clear enough.  There are still some concerns in my mind about those units sold by others that say "Imported By American Lifan".   But, time to move on.

Nope, no dealer here, just a 63 year old rider who has been in and around the good, gray and black markets from automobiles to telecommunications equipment and everything in between.   In fact I bought a scooter from Rabbit last year and while not the best experience I've ever had, after some time, we did get things taken care of.  I just want everyone to get their fare shake and folks who are tricked into thinking anything is not as it seems or is, are not getting their fare shake.

walkingdude,

How inconciderate of you to put words in my mouth.  I have no axe to grind here at all.  The bikes manufactured by Lifan for markets other than American Lifan, i.e. Tmotorsports, Rabbitscooters, etc. are actually not gray markets at all.  I am concerned about the units that say "Imported by American Lifan" but were purchased by and sold by Tmotorsports, Rabbit, etc.

Unknowing people who buy them are in many cases going back to American Lifan and/or their dealer network for warranty repairs and parts.  That and only that is what I have a problem with.

I have an LF250 and just absolutely love it.  I actually had an owner of a real Virago 250 tell me how much better he thought mmine looked.  He liked to died when I told him that I paid $1,425.00 for it brand new. :)  I don't know anything about the CP 200 but I think it's made in the U.S. and powered by the Lifan V-Twin 250.?????

Yeah, hey hi to all of you.  I've been here for a while. Stryder didn't mind that I had a "Cruiser" and  in fact has a nice section just for them no matter how few there are.  Yep, made me feel right to home here. ;D

Almon,

Not all of them are and even if they were they are not technically Lifans with regard to warranty and parts availability in all cases.  Many General Motors cars are made in the same plants and the tag says assembled in a General Motors Assembly Plant.  They are assembled by the same workers with many of the same parts but not all.  However you can't take your Pontiac to a Chevrolet dealer for warranty repairs unless of course it's a dual dealer.  All I'm saying here is that I am tired of people bashing the heck out of American Lifan when a dealer won't perform warranty work on their gray market bike or give them parts.  They can't because they can't get reimbursed from the factory.

If buyingchina's bike says "Imported By American Lifan"  We have another problem.  Which we can discuss later because I just got called to go plow snow off the country roads I love to cruise on in the summer.

buyingfrom china,

A Gallata is not a Lifan but rather a gray market version.  Good luck, I'm sure it will work out for you.

Bert,

What you got was a gray market bike not a genuine Lifan.  It does not suprise be that it said 2008 but was really a 2007.  That's the kind of practice these guys are in.  I'm sure it will work out just fine for you.  Just don't try to get service performed at a Lifan dealer.  I don't know what Tmotorsports actually has in stock.  I bought a carb for a scooter from them once and it came from someone else in another part of California.
