LF200GY / Re: Break problems
« on: July 13, 2011, 01:05:13 PM »
Hi superdiver

Sorry about the late reply... There could be a couple causing the rear brakes to lock up. 1. Could be the rear caliper full of mud. 2. Could be the rod that goes from the brake lever to the master cylinder may need to be adjusted. 3. The cap the holds the fluid could be missing 1 plastic ting that goes under the rubber diaphragm.

Hi happytramp

All disc locks are different... There are different widths, lengths, shaft/hole sizes etc.

Hi Aquapig

Your issue sounds like it's Timing or Valve related. More like a timing issue due to flames coming out of the carburetor. It could also be an electronic issue with the CDI or even as little as ignition coil leads plugged in backwards.

I personally would take it back to the place that I bought it from & let them fix it correctly. It should have some kind of warranty.....

Chit Chat / Re: I need lifan 125 gy-3 manual pdf please
« on: May 25, 2011, 04:48:56 PM »
Hi Dan

It depends...

The Lifan GY-3 that I know of has an almost "Horizontal" engine in it. In the USA they had a 70GY-3, 90GY-3 & a 110GY-3 that are all copies of the oh so famous Honda Trail70, CT70, DAX70, DAX50.

Unless your engine is almost "Vertical", the book I posted is the one you want.

Hi Dan
This is the manual that will cover a lot of engine repair for that bike...

Hi fiude

Yes, This Forum is located in the United States of America. Meaning; I am in the USA & so is the forum.

Lifan didn't import a 125cc motorcycle to the USA. They {Lifan} imported these bikes, LF 150GY, LF 150GY-3, LF 200GY-2 & LF 200GY-5.

I'm not sure what wiring the Lifan 125 engine you have has, {It could be an OHC = Over Head Cam or a Push-Rod engine} or what wiring harness the Samurai bike you are putting the engine in has. It would depend on what manufacturer who made the original engine that was in the Samurai bike how the new engine will be wired. You may even need to change the CDI box.

Rozy

Welcome to the forum.
I answered your other post. I'm glad you like the 400. The EPA = Environmental Protection Agency here in the USA just approved this bike a year or so ago, but Lifan hasn't imported it as of yet.

LF400 / Re: 400cc Cruiser Windscreen
« on: May 20, 2011, 04:27:55 PM »
SlipStreamer makes quite a few universal windscreens for motorcycles. http://www.slipstreamer.com/    You will need to buy one from a bike shop where you live I don't think they sell direct.

National Cycle also has windscreens.    http://www.nationalcycle.com/  Again you may need a universal one to fit.

The 400 is close to the Yamaha Virago 535.

Hi Stryder

No not all the information is gone from "The American Lifan" forum. The forum didn't belong to American Lifan. I have some access to it but not sure how Shawn & I are going to re-publish the forum. We need to change the name {obviously} and I will most likely have to put it back up via my web site, not sure yet.

I am trying to get here at least every couple of days to answer questions but I guess most people don['t realize that this forum in in The USA. This being said I can try to help but not all {Lifan} bikes were imported to The USA.

2nd. I ask because I'm in the USA and there wasn't a Lifan 150cc cruiser brought into the USA.

3rd. Can you post a picture of the bike so I can try to help better.
