Title: Lifan Laguna LF250-6B 12/2009
Post by: bitzabill on June 17, 2015, 02:06:08 AM
New to forum, new to new old stock bike.    Finally, almost sorted.   Just have to replace clutch with a Newfren 1351, and welding a new bootknob onto the center stand.    The motor is 1P69MM.   The biggest curses is the tiny fuel tank.  Only 4L!   Fuelled range is only 110km   for my 120kg mass.   Petrol stations are 5km to >200km apart.

Anyone know how big the thin clutch center nut is?  It's prob 42mm, but I haven't a means of measuring it to buy a socket.    Also, being a thin nut, I will have to remove the chamfered lead on the socket to get it to engage.   More mucking about!!!!   I'll check the YP250 manual, that might tell me?  No, nothing as to it's size.

New clutch installed.  Bike takes off much better.  When warming up the choke stays on too long and the motor runs too fast, causing the clutch to try and engage at the higher speed.  Then the choke goes off and the motor slows too much.   After a few Km it sorts itself out when the whole motor is warmed.   Keep forgetting abt the side stand kill switch.   I'm basically satisfied with it.  The fuel tank is too small--4L, and the mirrors don't clear my elbows, so I can't see behind me.   I'll make extension plates to move them out wider.  The electrical system is too weak at idle--it won't support the head and brake lights, even on low beam.    The fuel gauge sender is poorly made, the wiper often moves away from the arcs and disconnects.  I'll try making the float align vertically to reduce lateral leverage on a thinner wire which is pre-tensioned to keep wiper engaged.

Small problem.  If diurnal temp much exceeds 25degC, bike gets too hot and cuts out.  Seems like electrial fault.  Possibly cdi/tci transistor has thermal cutout included in package, and the heatsink isn't big enough.   I could create a new unit, or adapt another one.   Not sure which of the many modules is the ign unit, as this bike appears to be unique from almost all others.  there's no w/s manuals avail online and very little diagnostic help.   Not entirely happy, but still ok with it.

Help pls???    motor 1P69MM:

need threshold settings for thermostat, thermofan switch and calibration guide for temp gauge sensor.

Lifan don't seem to publish them, according to my dealer.   Thx in advance.
