Title: Lifan GY-3 110cc trail bike mods
Post by: doctorforgolf on October 30, 2010, 07:16:29 PM
Aloha,
I just ordered a Lifan GY-3 110cc trail bike.  From what I have been reading the gearing is not suited for street riding.  So I know I will be doing some mods to this bike.  First will be switching the sprockets to 17T/34T (http://ct70honda.com/Parts.html (http://ct70honda.com/Parts.html)).  A better coil and CDI will also be on the list.  I will also want to mod the exhaust http://shop.pitsterpro.com/30mmbigboreexhaustsystem.aspx (http://shop.pitsterpro.com/30mmbigboreexhaustsystem.aspx) and intake to a high flow filter, something like this; http://shop.pitsterpro.com/twostageunipodfilter.aspx (http://shop.pitsterpro.com/twostageunipodfilter.aspx)

My question is, will I be able to re-jet the carb or should I just get a bigger one such as this? http://www.hondatrailbikes.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=56&products_id=848 (http://www.hondatrailbikes.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=56&products_id=848)

But then again a swap for a 140cc is an option also…

If anyone has a suggestion on better parts or ideas PLEASE help.  Any info is GREATLY APRECHIATED!
